Sonic Robo Blast 2 is a super old Doom mod that tried to turn the Doom Engine into a general purpose 3D Sonic game engine around the time things like Sonic Adventure were new. For some reason, this Doom mod has been ever popular, and has been the basis for some insane mods, like this NiGHTS into Dreams doom mod:
